Cancer Center
The 30,000 square-foot Phase 2 addition at Harmony Campus opened its
doors to patients on June 9, 2014. The addition of the cancer center provides
access to medical oncology, patient navigation and counseling, infusion, clinical
research, pathology, and laboratory services all under one roof. Outdoor spaces,
such as a healing garden, provide
mental relaxation for patients and families.
The third phase of this project was completed in 2015 and houses survivorship and
wellness services. This 8,000-square-foot renovation includes physical therapy,
speech therapy, occupational therapy, lymphedema treatment, massage services,
nutrition counseling, conference space, a demonstration kitchen and a gym.
Innovative Research
The Innovative Research Fund supports pioneering clinical research and
educational programs. Patient efforts include a retrospective data analysis of
current treatments for heart attacks.  Community initiatives consist of a study to
explore the health effects of putting fourth graders on a diet that includes a higher
intake of beans and rice bran.  Also, in response to the alarming increase of bike
accidents, a study will be published to support a community education program
on street safety for bicyclists and motorists alike.
